One of my favorite rooms that I’ve ever done is obviously, Jackson’s nursery. We were living in Memphis at the time and the room that became his nursery was my office. I never really decorated my office since I knew that it would probably become the nursery at some point in the near future. We had lived in the house for only a couple of months before we got pregnant. As soon as I found out he was a boy, I had to get started on the nursery! I spent a lot of time searching for inspiration and came across this photo from Project Nursery….

I loved the palette accent wall idea! I thought about hiring someone to do it for me (since neither my husband or I are very handy), but then wasn’t sure that I wanted to actually nail all this palette wood to the wall, especially knowing that we probably wouldn’t be in Memphis forever. I met a faux finisher in Memphis and had inquired with her about painting the wood slats on the wall…she agreed that she could do it but it was more than I wanted to spend. So then I thought, what about wallpaper? I searched the internet and found this wallpaper that looked like palettes of wood, so I thought I’d give it a try! I painted the rest of the walls Sherwin Williams Passive Gray and then did the wallpaper on the crib wall. It turned out great! Everybody that walked in thought that it was real wood, so I was happy with the result!
I loved the animal heads in the inspiration photo that I found too! I found these paper maché ones from West Elm that were perfect for each side of the window. (I don’t think they have them anymore but found some similar ones here from Target). I went back and forth on whether to purchase a gray or white crib and dresser but ended up going with the Fillmore Collection in white from Pottery Barn Kids. I also decided on the navy and white trellis rug from Pottery Barn Kids (It looks like it’s not available anymore, but I found a similar one from the Home Depot). The rocker/glider and ottoman was also from Pottery Barn Kids!
Here are a few final photos of how his nursery turned out!
This balloon was a gift from our sweet friends.

I bought these animal prints from the Animal Print Shop.
And the “Be Who You Will” print was a gift from my sister and her family.

It’s hard to believe this was two and a half years ago! We moved to Charleston when Jackson was just a few months old but I decided to “re-create” his room at our house in Mt. Pleasant since he didn’t really get to live in it for that long! Recently, we transitioned him to a big boy bed and his room has changed a little since then. I will share some photos his new big boy room next!
